Ron Hogan After two solid planks in a hardcore wall of noise, the jazz-inflected guitar of “Riverbed” is a wild surprise. The sound veers back to metal after that, but it’s full of little tweaks and twists to keep you guessing, like the piano passage in “Synaptic Bugle” that builds up to a killer climax, practically Deafheaven territory… but with a sharper edge. Favorite track: Riverbed.

Gonk Nodge genius. composition is out of this world Favorite track: Westboro BBQ.

aelia One of the best metal releases of the year! It really does live up to all the tagged genres. This also has some top-notch production, thankfully.

Jack Friend Artistic, complex, beautiful and disgusting. Too many adjectives to list off all wrapped up in a beautiful mix. This is the absolute pinnacle of talent and hard work. Favorite track: Synaptic Bugle.
